Get to Know Us
Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Jen—mom, maker, and founder of MAKE A GOOD MESS. This little business grew out of my real-life, everyday experiences parenting a neurodivergent child and trying to find tools that actually worked—not just once, but over time, and in the midst of real-life chaos.
When my child was a toddler, I started creating sensory kits to help support their needs. These kits became a lifeline during meltdowns, transitions, and those long days when nothing seemed to go as planned. Now that we’re in the elementary school years, I’m amazed at how these same tools still support my child’s sensory needs, fine motor development, and emotional regulation—while also making space for play and creativity.
I realized if these simple tools helped us, they could help other families too—especially those who are navigating similar paths and just need something that works without adding stress.
That’s why I created MAKE A GOOD MESS: to offer fun, functional, and thoughtfully designed products for both neurodivergent and neurotypical kids—and the parents doing their best to support them.
Whether you’re here for a sensory kit, activity ideas, or just a reminder that you’re not alone—I’m so glad you found us. I hope what we’ve created brings more calm, confidence, and connection to your home.
Let’s make a good mess together. 💛
